White Silence: Speak Up. I Can't Hear You

Racial Justice Allies of Sonoma County invites you to join us for a conversation to explore your own "White Silence” and It’s Complicity in Maintaining Racism.

Find ways to break the silence, step up and pull back the veil to expose the lies and denial found within ourselves.

"...when it came to race the most vocal white voices were the racists. The white people that could talk the most passionately, articulately, and consistently, with no fear, were the racists in my family and in my community. The white people who wanted to be on the right side of history were often terrified to talk about race, afraid to say the wrong thing, awkward and confused, but good-hearted white people...

“For those of us raised into white privilege, into a white ignorance of racism--white silence, the centuries-old code of white people. White silence in the face of racial injustice. Not only silence but the inability to see what's right in front of you. This is the way white supremacy gets 'in here.'" Chris Crass 2015
