All over the country, people are rising against racism to build a better world. In wake of Charleston, it is clear that now, more than ever, white folks are needed to organize white communities for racial justice. If you want to start a new group to organize white people for racial justice in your area, join us for our New Groups and New Organizing call on Wednesday, July 1, at 6pm PT/7pm MT/8pm CT/9pm ET.
Since the tragic murders in Charleston shook the country, hundreds of folks have contacted SURJ wanting to figure out ways to organize white people against white supremacy in their local communities. On our new groups and new organizing call, we aim to support folks who are new to organizing in building and growing local groups. We'll be addressing questions such as: How do you plan your first meeting? How do you plan your first action? What kind of support can you get from SURJ?
Whether you are new to organizing, or you are rebuilding your group's capacity to take action, join us to share skills and strategies to strengthen all of our organizing in the movement for racial justice.
