Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) supports #BlackLivesMatter national day of action: Call for a North CHS Citizen Review Board:

Join us! On Thursday, July 21st the national Movement for Black Lives has called a national #BlackLivesMatter day of action and Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) is calling local white allies against racism to support local actions. Charleston SURJ has been asked by local #BlackLivesMatter activists for support at the City of North Charleston's next Public Safety meeting. And we will be there. Join us!

Some of us will demonstrate outside with signs, others will go inside. BLM activists will speak at the meeting and we will be there to support them, their words, their work, and their lives. Those going inside will go through metal detectors to enter the North Charleston government building. We'd love folks to live stream the event whether you are outside or inside the building, whether you are in the meeting or not. Please post those feeds or links to them here. Please take and post pix here as well as on your own feeds.

We'll have signs, but feel free to bring signs with these messages (no sticks or PVC pipe):
