Black Lives Matter Solidarity Service

The extrajudicial killing of Michael Brown on August 9, 2014 sparked a cry from Ferguson, Missouri that has not relented. Protests have continued daily across the greater St. Louis metro region ever since August 10. On this one-year anniversary, Unitarian Universalists in St. Louis join local groups in a call for people of faith and conscience to Show up for Ferguson. Today we meet in solidarity with our colleagues to show our local community that #BlackLivesMatter.  This service will launch a year of anti-racism events in Midland, a community with little racial diversity and the need for education on privilege and its impacts on communities, such as nearby Saginaw.
